Birch Creek Music Performance Center Announces 2025 Jazz Concert Series

EGG HARBOR, Wis. (July 9, 2025) – Birch Creek Music Performance Center will celebrate its 50th season with a powerful lineup of jazz concerts featuring the Birch Creek Jazz Orchestra, talented student performers, and acclaimed guest drummer Harold Jones. From July 16 to August 9, the sounds of swing, blues, and big band jazz will fill the Dutton Concert Barn during Birch Creek’s annual Big Band Jazz Sessions.

Concert evenings begin with student jazz combo performances at 6:30 PM in the Kane Gazebo, followed by the full concert at 7:00 PM, showcasing student big band jazz ensembles and Birch Creek’s nationally acclaimed faculty musicians.

The series opens on July 16 with Swing into Summer, followed by big band legends Basie, Miller & Ellington on July 17 and 18 (3 PM Matinee only), and another Swing into Summer performance on July 19. Jazz I concerts continue the following week with Celebrating 50 Years of Jazz in the Barn on July 23 and 26 and Swing, Blues & Big Band Jazz on July 24 and 25. The Big Band Jazz I Family Concert on Saturday, July 26 at 1:00 PM, is sponsored by the Town of Egg Harbor and is free to the public.

Jazz II concerts continue the celebration with Big Band Jazz Summer Favorites on July 30 and August 2, and The Styles and Sounds of Big Band Jazz on July 31 and August 1 (3 PM Matinee only). The following week, jazz enthusiasts can enjoy Celebrating 50 Years of Birch Creek Jazz on August 6 and 9, and Soulful Blues and Big Band Jazz on August 7 and 8. A highlight of the August 8 concert will be the return of legendary Basie and Bennett drummer Harold Jones, performing with the Birch Creek Jazz Orchestra on Friday, August 8. Also joining the Jazz II concerts is Mardra Thomas, lending her vocal talents to performances. The series includes a  Big Band Jazz II Family Concert at 1:00 PM on August 9, also sponsored by the Town of Egg Harbor.

Tickets are available at BirchCreek.org/Tickets or by phone at (920) 868-3763. General admission is $33 for adults, $10 for students, and $6 for children (11 and under). Premium seating in the front-center section is available for $40. Group rates are available for parties of 10 or more. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and the Box Office is open on concert nights from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
