Rose Sperrazza

Rose Sperrazza is Professor of Music at Northeastern Illinois University and founder of the Chicago Clarinet Ensemble, which has been in residence there since 2007. She is also a Vandoren Artist and former Executive Director of the International Clarinet Association.

Sperrazza is especially drawn to the collaborative spirit and camaraderie of chamber music. She organizes and performs regularly with various chamber ensembles at NEIU. A chamber music highlight includes performances of the Brahms and Mozart clarinet quintets with the Cassatt String Quartet. Her orchestral experience includes performances with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Lyric Opera Orchestra of Chicago, Musical Theatre Works, the Lithuanian Opera Orchestra of Chicago, and numerous ensembles throughout the Chicago area.

Sperrazza holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master of Music degree from the University of Akron, and a Bachelor of Music degree from DePaul University. Her primary teachers include William Gasbarro, Larry Combs, David Bell, and Linda Bartley.
