Michal Brauhn Damm

Dr. Michal Brauhn Damm is a versatile percussionist, educator, and scholar dedicated to promoting inclusivity and the works of women composers in the percussion field. Performance highlights include serving as Principal Timpanist with the Classical Music Festival Orchestra in Austria (2024) and as staff drummer for the Laborie Steel Pan Workshop in St. Lucia with legendary pan artist Andy Narell (2023). She serves on faculty at Oklahoma Baptist University, the University of Central Oklahoma, and Birch Creek Summer Music Academy while also maintaining a robust private lessons studio. Dr. Brauhn Damm is committed to promoting works by women composers, exemplified by her 2022 performance of Molly Joyce’s Figure & Form at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention. As a prolific composer and arranger, her works are published through Tapspace. She holds degrees from the University of Oklahoma (DMA), the University of Arizona (MM), and the University of Iowa (BM). Dr. Brauhn Damm is a member of the Black Swamp Percussion Education Network and the Network for Diversity in Concert Percussion.
