A dynamic performer known for her vibrant energy on and off the stage, Maria Marmarou exemplifies groove, sound, and versatility alongside acclaimed musicians and ensembles.
At 26, Marmarou has shared the stage with artists such as Orrin Evans, Michael Dease, Catherine Russell, and Terell Stafford, and has performed with distinguished ensembles including The Captain Black Big Band, the Birdland Big Band, the Ted Nash Big Band, the Count Basie Orchestra, and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.
Marmarou is a graduate of Temple University, where she earned her Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance (BM ‘22), a Spanish Certificate (‘22), a Master of Music in Jazz Studies (MM ‘24), and a Professional Studies Music Certificate (‘25). She studied with Terell Stafford, Tim Warfield, Steve Fidyk, and Justin Faulkner.
A lifelong learner, Marmarou is passionate about teaching and inspiring students through private lessons, masterclasses, and summer programs, including the Brevard Summer Jazz Institute. She is proudly endorsed by Sabian Cymbals.
