Mardra Thomas (CHI/STL) is a featured vocalist with the esteemed Chicago Jazz Orchestra and a longtime performer with the Birch Creek Jazz Orchestra of Door County. A seasoned actor and prominent figure in the jazz community, she has conducted vocal clinics and served as an adjudicator for vocal ensembles and talent competitions. Mardra is featured on recordings of the Freddie the Frog educational music book series, as well as Matters of the Heart, Standard Time, and Fade to Blue with pianist Reggie Thomas—who just happens to be her husband.
