Bonnie Campbell

Dr. Bonnie Campbell has served on the faculty of VanderCook College of Music since 20008. An active performer, she has presented recitals throughout the United States and internationally. Her orchestral experience includes performances at the Evian Festival in France and the opening ceremonies of the Bastille Opera House in Paris. She has performed with the South Bend Symphony and the Camerata Chamber Orchestra of Bloomington, an ensemble of faculty and students from the Indiana University School of Music. She has also appeared at New York City’s Merkin Hall and Lincoln Center, where she performed Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet.

In Chicago, Dr. Campbell has frequently performed at the Chicago Cultural Center and has been featured on WFMT’s Live from Studio One and the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series. She is a founding member of the Daedalus Duo and Vermillon, collaborating with pianist Diana Schmück and cellist Judy Stone, with whom she performed at the International Clarinet Association’s ClarinetFest in Vancouver, BC. At the invitation of the International Clarinet Association, she presented the world premiere of Robert Kritz’s Diaspora Dances at ClarinetFest in Porto, Portugal.

Dr. Campbell earned a Doctor of Music degree in Music Literature and Clarinet Performance from Indiana University. She also holds degrees from Yale University and Roberts Wesleyan College, where she graduated summa cum laude, and has studied at the Banff Center for the Arts and Creativity. Her teachers include James Campbell, Keith Wilson, Margaret Quackenbush, and Alan Hacker. In addition to her work at VanderCook, Dr. Campbell has taught at Bethel College, Yale University, Indiana University, and the Csehy Summer School of Music. She is also on the faculty of the Merit School of Music and serves as Choir Director at Lake Street Church of Evanston.
