Jeff Campbell (Program Director, Academy Band Director, Bass), Rochester, N.Y. Mr. Campbell is professor at the Eastman School of Music. He performs with the Rochester Philharmonic and with jazz pianist Marian McPartland.
Phil Crews (Lab Band Director), Chicago, Ill. Mr. Crews received both his bachelor's and master’s degrees at VanderCook College of Music, Chicago, Ill. His successful band programs at Thorton High School and Rich High School have been recognized regionally and nationally. Mr. Crews also currently serves as director of the Prairie State Community Concert Band, and free-lances in the Chicago area. He is in demand as a guest conductor clinician.
James A. Stombres (Studio Band Director), St. Charles, Ill. Mr. Stombres is band director at St. Charles North High School. He has been guest director at many state festivals, and has taught at the University of Illinois summer youth music camp.

David Bixler (Alto Saxophone), New York, N.Y. Mr. Bixler performs with the Toshiko Akioshi Jazz Orchestra and Chico O'Farrill's Orchestra. He also recently toured with the Duke Ellington Orchestra. His Web site is www.davidbixler.com.
Doug Stone (Tenor Saxophone), Roselle, Ill. Mr. Stone has performed in the Chicago area with the Joel Spencer Quartet, the Ed Breazeale Group, and the John Burnett Orchestra. In 2004 and 2005, Mr. Stone toured with Maynard Ferguson and the Big Bop Nouveau. Mr. Stone is co-director of the Stone/Bratt Big Band, which performs many of his original works. He teaches at St. Charles North High School, Lyons Township High School, and Northern Illinois University Community School for the Arts.
Clay Jenkins (Trumpet), Rochester, N.Y. Mr. Jenkins is the Associate Professor of Jazz Trumpet at the Eastman School of Music. He performs with the Clayton/Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, Joe La Barbera Quintet, Trio East and Billy Mintz Two Bass Band.
Scott Belck, (Trumpet), Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Belck is Assistant Professor of Trumpet at Capital Conservatory of Music, Capital University, Columbus, Ohio. His prior teaching credits include the University of Minnesota Duluth, Miami University (Oxford, Ohio), Marshall University, and St. Francis Xavier University (Canada). He currently performs with Tromba Mundi, Capital Brass Quintet, Spectrum, and UpBeat Brass. Dr. Belck has performed as principal trumpet with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Pops, Minnesota Ballet’s Festival Orchestra, and Richmond Symphony Orchestra, among others. A short list of his performances as lead trumpet include Manhattan Transfer, Woody Herman Orchestra, Aretha Franklin, Linda Ronstadt, Ben Vereen, Temptations, and Lou Rawls.

Dr. Clarence Hines (Trombone), Jacksonville, Fla. Dr. Hines is an Assistant Professor of Jazz Studies at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. He is an active performer, composer, and arranger. His recent performances include shows with The O’Jays, John Pizzarelli, David Sanborn and others. Dr. Hines has also appeared in festivals including the North Sea Jazz Festival, Rochester International Jazz Festival, and Jacksonville Jazz Festival. His compositions and arrangements have been premiered at The Midwest Clinic and IAJE Conference and are published by UNC Jazz Press.
Steve Horne (Trombone), Glenview, Ill. Mr. Horne is a freelance artist in the Chicago area, and teaches privately.
Reggie Thomas (Piano), Glen Carbon, Ill. Mr. Thomas is associate professor of music at Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville. He performs with the Reggie & Mardra Thomas Jazz Ensemble, OGD, and with various big bands. He is also on the faculty of Jazz at Lincoln Center.
Dennis Mackrel (Drums), Woodstock, N.Y. Mr. Mackrel Mr. Mackrel is a noted jazz drummer and highly respected composer and arranger whose work has been recorded and performed by the Count Basie Orchestra, The Frank Wess Orchestra, The Dizzy Gillespie All Star Big Band, The WDR Radio Big Band from Germany, The Klüvers Big Band from Denmark, and the McCoy Tyner Big Band, whose Grammy winning CDs included Mackrel’s arrangements. He has won numerous awards including A National Endowment For The Arts grant for composition. He has served as a jazz educator in Europe, Asia, Canada and the USA.
Rick Haydon (Guitar), Edwardsville, Ill. Mr. Haydon is professor of music at Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville, where he directs the guitar program and the recording studio. He is also on the faculty of Jazz at Lincoln Center.
