Birch Creek's Kate Rericha Appointed to Wisconsin Humanities Council 

EGG HARBOR, Wis. (October 17, 2023) – Birch Creek, a renowned non-profit organization in the world of music education and cultural enrichment, proudly announces the recent appointment of its Senior Grants and Development Manager, Kate Rericha, to the Wisconsin Humanities Council.

Rericha was recommended by George Tzougros, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Arts Board, and received the prestigious appointment from Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers. This remarkable achievement underscores Rericha's deep commitment to the arts and humanities and her dedication to promoting culture, education, and community engagement in Wisconsin. 

With this appointment, Rericha joins a group of respected leaders and scholars who share a passion for championing the humanities as a vital force in the state's civic life. The Wisconsin Humanities Council is a nonprofit organization committed to enriching the cultural and intellectual life of the state by supporting and promoting the humanities, including history, literature, philosophy, and more.

Birch Creek Music Performance Center celebrates its 48th year as Door County’s Residential Summer Music Academy in Egg Harbor, WI, for advanced student musicians. With a performance emphasis, students are taught by nationally known performers and educators during the day and perform alongside them in concerts at night. Four sessions focus on Percussion, Steel Pan & World Music; Symphony, and Big Band Jazz. Proceeds from all Birch Creek events and concerts provide support for Birch Creek students.
