Birch Creek Music Performance Center is a summer music school in Door County, Wisconsin, for advanced young musicians. With a performance emphasis, students are taught by nationally-known performers and educators during the day, and perform alongside them in concerts at night. Four sessions focus on symphony, percussion & steelpan, and big band jazz (2 sessions).
The Birch Creek Difference
The difference between Birch Creek and other summer music programs around the country is the numerous performance opportunities offered to the students, and the low student-to-faculty ratio of 2-to-1, which results in intense and close mentorships.
From late June to mid-August, Birch Creek students and faculty are in residence for four two-week sessions on the historic Birch Creek campus three miles east of Egg Harbor, Wisconsin. Over the course of the summer, 200 students and 100 faculty members study by day, and at night present 30 concerts in the 100-year-old, 500-seat renovated Dutton Concert Barn. In addition, Birch Creek faculty and students perform a full range of public outreach concerts and other public events scheduled in and around the Door County peninsula.
