Each summer, some of the most well-known professional musicians in the country teach and mentor promising and highly motivated young musicians ages 12-19 from Wisconsin, the Midwest and beyond during four two-week resident sessions at Birch Creek just outside Egg Harbor. As we enter our fourth decade, we are operating at overflow capacity. Approximately 200 students will enroll each summer and be taught by nearly 100 faculty members during the day and then perform alongside them at night. Simply stated, we have outgrown our capacity to serve the students and faculty who attend.

| We embarked on "Perfect Pitch," a Capital Campaign that added 3 new buildings to our 40-acre campus. The new buildings directly address our student and faculty needs during the summer, and provide Birch Creek with four-season facilities in which we can extend our "shoulder season" activities in our local community. |

Birch Creek's Capital Campaign has a goal of $3 million. By May 2007, our board, staff, and volunteer solicitors quietly raised more than $1.5 million. During the public phase of our campaign, which began in June 2007, we have raised more than $2,327,000.
Ground breaking took place in late August 2007 and the construction was completed in May 2008--in time for the arrival of 2008 faculty and students.

- Inner and outer shops for various tool storage
- Equipment park for vehicles and vehicle maintenance
- Storage area for heavy items formerly stored in the barn loft

Fundraising continues, even as our construction has been completed, in order to meet our $3 million goal. Aggressive strategies by our Trustees, such as refinancing our short-term construction loan at a lower interest rate and encouraging donors to complete their pledges early, has brought our final goal to under $3 million.
