Birch Creek is a summer music school whose mission is to provide intensive, performance-based instruction to promising young musicians ages 13-19 by immersing them in a professional, mentoring environment. While not directly involved in a student's education, counselors and interns are an integral part of a vibrant campus that includes students, professional musicians, and arts administrators
Birch Creek is located in Door County, Wisconsin. Each summer, a number of seasonal positions are available. We accept inquiries at any time.

Counselors (5 positions total)
ALL POSITIONS FILLEDResponsibilities: Monitor students, develop and coordinate student recreational activities, share campus maintenance and housekeeping duties with other counselors, assist with student registration and orientation, assist with concert preparations and logistics, assist in office, library, and with campus errands.
Qualifications: Music Education Majors with experience working with junior high and high school students preferred. Dependable, energetic, hard-working, self-motivated, well-organized, good at communications and teamwork. Valid drivers license required. Age 21+ preferred (for automobile insurance requirements).
Salary: $ 300/wk plus room and board. Full-time. Weekends required.
Start date: June 16 End date: August 20
Sound Technician/House Manager
POSITION FILLED
Responsibilities: Coordinate and oversee sound set-up, sound enhancement, lighting and recording for all campus and outreach concerts. Act as house manager at all concerts and perform sound-checks for 40-concert season. Maintain concert hall, Green Room, and practice rooms. Assist with stage set-up and other concert preparations. Maintain equipment in campus Library/Listening Lab and Keyboard Lab. Assist with campus errands.
Qualifications: Experience setting up and operating a soundboard, lighting and recording equipment. Knowledge of music performance and house management. Dependable, self-motivated, energetic, excels at working with people. Valid drivers license required. Age 21+ preferred (for automobile insurance requirements).
Salary: $ 300/wk plus room and board. Full-time. Weekends required.
Start date: June 16 End date: August 20
Box Office Intern
POSITION FILLED
Responsibilities: Operate box office for all campus concerts, manage ticket sales, perform ticket/cash reconciliation and record keeping, assist with concert preparations. Oversee and train volunteers on box office procedures.
Qualifications: Arts administration or performing arts student with business or public relations background. Excellent communication and people skills, highly organized, dependable, self-motivated. Valid drivers license required.
Salary: $ 300/wk plus room and board. Full-time. Weekends required.

Public Relations Intern
POSITION FILLED
Responsibilities: Assist Director of Marketing & Public Relations Director with marketing and promotion of concerts, writing media releases, disseminating season materials and sponsorship materials, assist with phone duties and ticket sales.
Qualifications: Arts administration student with marketing/public relations background. Excellent communication/ people skills, organized, dependable, self-motivated. Valid drivers license and personal vehicle required.
Salary: $ 300/wk plus room and board. Full-time. Weekends required.
